Neil Griffin College of Business Honors Outstanding Students for the 2023-2024 Academic Year

JONESBORO – According to Dr. Jim Washam, dean of the Neil Griffin College of Business, the top graduating students of the 2023-24 academic year from the Neil Griffin College of Business at Arkansas State University (A-State) were recognized at the Convocation of Scholars.
Gabrielle Holifield of Blytheville received the Chancellor’s Scholar award as the graduating senior with the highest GPA in the college this academic year. Holifield, along with Abigail Avery of Jonesboro, Omari Buford of Olive Branch, Miss., Nathaly Gonzalez Fuentes of Cabot, Skylar Jensen of Norfork, Sarah McCammon of Searcy, Bryn McDonnough of Pocahontas, Jason Whaley of Lincoln, and Faith Whitmire of Jonesboro received the 4.0 Scholar Award. The Chancellor’s Scholar award is given to the student with a 4.0 GPA who has earned the most credit hours at A-State.
Outstanding Graduate Awards are presented to the senior in each degree program with the most outstanding achievements in scholarship, leadership, and service.
Those who received departmental awards, along with their respective degree programs, are: Sarah McCammon of Searcy, accounting; Megan Grey of North Little Rock, business administration; Gabrielle Holifield of Blytheville, finance (financial management); Laci DeWitt of Monette and Lindon Marberry of Viola, finance (banking); Kakujiro Ito of Shinagawa-ku, Japan, Bachelor of Science in Economics; and Nathaly Gonzalez Fuentes of Cabot, Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Other departmental award recipients are: Abigail Avery of Jonesboro, Bachelor of Science in Economics (pre-law); Soichiro Takahashi of Handa-shi, Aichi, Japan, computer and information technology; Evan Roode of Johannesburg, South Africa, international business; Nathan Raath of Bloemfontein, South Africa, management; Mailyn Wilkerson of Houston, management (HR); Claire McCord of Jonesboro, marketing; Emilee Thomason of Bald Knob, marketing (sales leadership); and Rebecca Brody of Somerset West, South Africa, global supply chain management.
Graduate degree program award recipients are Blake Hegwood of Hot Springs Village, Master of Business Administration; Austin Shultz of Paragould, Master of Accountancy with Data Analytics; and Himani Vidhani of Udaipur, India, Master of Science in Applied Digital Technology.
Skylar Jensen of Norfork received the Talbert-Carrothers Dean's Award, named in honor of two former deans of the college and presented to a graduating senior with the second-highest GPA.
