A-State’s August 2026 Graduates — Including a New Chemistry Graduate from Vietnam
Arkansas State University has published the list of students who completed their degree requirements and received diplomas in the August 2026 conferral. The graduates come from 43 states, territories and Washington, D.C., and from 16 other countries.
Congratulations to our graduate from Vietnam
The international section of this conferral includes one graduate from Vietnam: Dang Hoang Lam Nguyen, Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry — the name as it appears on the university’s list. Congratulations from A-State’s Vietnam Office to you and your family.

Degrees were awarded at every level — associate, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral, plus programme certificates — across eight colleges: Agriculture; the Neil Griffin College of Business; Education and Behavioral Science; Engineering and Computer Science; Liberal Arts and Communication; Nursing and Health Professions; Beck Sciences and Mathematics; and University College.
What the international graduates studied
The twenty-four international graduates span the university, led by Engineering Management and the MBA, followed by Applied Digital Technology, Statistics, Civil Engineering, Global Supply Chain Management, Accounting with Data Analytics, Computer Science and Radiologic Sciences.
Two of them earned bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science — a programme that has just received STEM designation, meaning graduates can now apply for up to 36 months of OPT rather than 12.
What Cum Laude, Magna and Summa mean
The Latin after many graduates’ names marks graduation honours, based on the GPA across an undergraduate degree. At A-State:
- Summa Cum Laude — a 4.0 GPA
- Magna Cum Laude — 3.8 to 3.99
- Cum Laude — 3.6 to 3.79
Unlike the Dean’s List, which is decided each semester, graduation honours are decided on the whole programme — so a weak first-year term still pulls the overall GPA down. More in our study-in-the-US glossary.
The full list
The university lists graduates by state, county and hometown, then international students and the two campuses outside the US, with degree, major and honours as verified by the Registrar’s Office. We have not reproduced the names here — the original is on astate.edu.
