An international scholarship of $3,000 per year (3.25 GPA or above) is deducted directly from the total, but cannot be combined with the Vietnam tuition rate.

The formula matches A-State’s official 2026–27 cost tables. Final amounts may vary slightly with individual course fees ($5–$255) and your insurance plan.

How to read the result

Tuition per credit

Undergraduate $649 per credit (including the $23 athletic fee), master’s $777 per credit. The college fee ranges from $27 to $55 per credit by program; the calculator uses a mid-range figure.

Housing per semester

2026–27 rates by community: hall double $2,730, single $3,450; Collegiate Park $3,040; Red Wolf Den $3,140; Pack Place $3,755; Village $3,400; Circle $4,429. The off-campus option is an estimate.

Meal plan and insurance

Meal plans at $2,020 / $2,570 / $2,660 per semester (mandatory in some halls). University health insurance is about $1,100 a year and required for international students.

Scholarship deducted directly

The $3,000-per-year international scholarship (3.25 GPA) is credited to your tuition bill. The calculator shows both figures so families can compare.

First-year students aged 17 and over must live on campus; choose a residence hall rather than the off-campus option for your first year.

Tuition and mandatory fees in detail

The per-credit rate is only half the story. On top of it sits a flat charge every semester and a second per-credit charge set by the college teaching each course, which is why a full schedule of business or engineering classes bills higher than the same credit load in another college.

ItemRateNotes
Undergraduate tuition (international)$626 / creditNon-resident rate, charged to every international student
Graduate tuition (international)$754 / creditNon-resident rate for master’s and doctoral students
Athletic fee$23 / creditMandatory, added to every credit you enrol in
Mandatory per-semester fees$375 / semesterInternational student fee $350 + student activity fee $25
Total mandatory fees per semester — undergraduate$651 / semesterCalculated at 12 credits per semester
Total mandatory fees per semester — graduate$582 / semesterCalculated at 9 credits per semester

College support fee

CollegePer credit
Agriculture$27 / credit
Business$55 / credit
Engineering$50 / credit
Nursing$27 / credit
Nursing courses$46 / credit
Sciences$35 / credit

Between $27 and $55 per credit. It attaches to the course, not to the major printed on your file, so a semester mixing electives from several colleges can carry two or three of these rates side by side.

The SEVIS I-901 charge and the visa appointment fee are set by the US government, paid before you fly, and therefore absent from this table. Unlike tuition, everything listed here is paid once for the whole degree rather than every semester.

Health and insurance

  • Health screening on arrival: $280 — required for international students.
  • An administrative fee of $90 covers the tuberculosis (TB) test and the MMR immunisation.
  • Budget about $250 for additional vaccines and lab work.
  • University health insurance: $450 in fall and $650 in spring, $1,100 for the year.

Payment and refunds

The balance has to be settled by the 11th class day in fall and spring, and by the 5th class day in summer — the first week of term, in other words, not the end of it. Cards add 3.09% if issued in the US and 4.34% if issued abroad, and that surcharge is not refunded if you later drop a course, so a bank transfer almost always leaves you better off. Start the transfer several working days early; international payments rarely clear the same day.

Accepted payment methods

  • myBill (credit or debit card)
  • US bank account
  • US cheque
  • International transfer through Flywire
  • Bank transfer through Convera inside myBill
  • Installment plan within the semester ($40 set-up fee)

Tuition refund policy when you drop a course

When you dropRefund
Through the 5th class day100%
Class days 6–1075%
Short courses: through the 2nd day100%

Past these windows the money stays with the university, which is the practical argument for finalising your schedule in week one. There is a second reason for international students: dropping below a full-time credit load puts F-1 status at risk, so talk to an international advisor before you change anything.

  • Apartments are for students entering their second academic year.
  • Students in Arkansas Hall, Kays Hall, University Hall, Northpark Quads and Living Learning Communities must have a Board meal plan.
  • First-year students must choose a Board 5-day or 7-day plan.
  • Renters insurance: $25 per semester at Pack Place and The Circle, $30 per semester in the NYIT community.

Frequently asked questions

Is the calculator result what the university will bill?

It is an estimate closely aligned with the university’s official 2026–27 examples. Your actual bill depends on your program (college fee), the specific hall and per-semester fees; the difference is usually within a few percent.

How much must I show for the I-20?

The university requires proof of one year’s total cost per its official example (about $29,646 for a 12-credit undergraduate). The exact amount follows the current academic year — the office confirms it before you prepare documents.

Is summer included in the annual figure?

No, the calculator covers the Fall and Spring semesters. If you take summer classes to graduate early, add tuition per credit and summer housing (usually cheaper).

Why choose 15 credits rather than 12?

15 credits per term lets you graduate in four years (120 credits). 12 is the minimum to keep F-1 status but extends your time to degree, and the total cost of the whole program is usually higher even though each year is cheaper.

What currency will I be billed in?

US dollars. Every figure here is the amount the university charges, so convert at your bank’s selling rate on the day you transfer.
