Important Update on Tuition and Study Abroad Costs at Arkansas State University (A-State) for 2025-2026

Arkansas State University (A-State) would like to announce some important updates regarding financial requirements for international students enrolling from 2025 onward.

Tuition Increase and Financial Support Requirements

The Arkansas State University Board of Trustees has approved a 3.3% tuition increase effective July 1, 2025. As a result, all international student applications submitted from 12:00 a.m. on July 14, 2025 (CST) will need to demonstrate a higher level of financial capability to meet the new cost requirements.

This is a mandatory condition to comply with university policy and visa application regulations.

New Minimum Financial Support Levels

To ensure a smooth application review process, applicants need to prepare financial documents reflecting the following figures for the first academic year (for students to demonstrate financial support to obtain their I-20):

• Undergraduate Level:
  • $26,000 for students from Nigeria, Uganda, South Korea, and Caribbean island nations.
  • $28,000 for students from Nepal, India, and Vietnam.
  • $33,000 for students from all other countries.
• Graduate Level (Master's, Doctoral):
  • $30,000 for all students from every country.

These figures include estimates for the following expenses:

• Tuition and other academic fees.
• Room and board costs in the dormitory.
• Health insurance for the full year.
• Initial tuition deposit (may be refundable).

Important Note:

• Applications submitted before July 14, 2025 will still be reviewed under the previous (lower) cost levels.
• I-20 forms that have already been issued will not be changed solely for this reason. However, all enrolled international students will still need to pay tuition and other costs according to the new requirements.
