A-State Continues to “Accelerate” Spring 2026 Enrollment: Sets Record with 16,145 Students

Arkansas State University (A-State) continues to maintain impressive enrollment growth as Spring 2026 recorded a record total enrollment of 16,145 students, up 6.4% compared to the previous Spring. This also marks the 5th consecutive semester (fall or spring) in which A-State has set a new record.

Spring 2026 Highlights

According to A-State's official announcement:

• Traditional, on-campus students: 8,141 (+8.4%)
• Online students: 8,004 (+4.5%) – A-State's highest level for any semester
• Transfer students: 521, an increase of 199 compared to Spring 2025
• Total credit hours attempted: 133,875, up 6.1%

Why Is A-State's Growth So Strong and Sustainable?

A-State says this growth stems from coordinated investment in academics, affordability, and student success, along with growing demand for programs aligned with the job market.

Programs recording notable growth in Spring 2026 include:

• B.S. Radiological Sciences
• B.S. Elementary Education
• M.S. Organizational Leadership
• Certificates in software development and Swift coding

Notably, the Swift coding certificate (launched in 2018) is attracting concurrently enrolled high school students, showing that A-State is expanding early college pathways and technology skills to get ahead of demand.

Highlight: Nursing, Animal Science, and Plans for a New College of Veterinary Medicine

Alongside technology programs, nursing continues to grow strongly, along with animal science. A-State also expects this trend to accelerate as the university prepares to open Arkansas's first College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall (pending accreditation progress).

Building Momentum for Fall 2026: Applications Up Nearly 15%

Beyond Spring 2026, A-State has also recorded a 14.7% increase in applications for Fall 2026 compared to the same period last year.
