‘A Little Too Little, A Little Too Much’ Exhibit Opens at Bradbury Art Museum

JONESBORO – The Bradbury Art Museum will display an exhibit by A. Skylar Evans, an Arkansas State University graduate, through Tuesday, December 19. An opening reception will be held starting Thursday, December 7, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Evans, who graduated from A-State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts this past spring, will present the photo series “A Little Too Little, A Little Too Much.”
Evans said the exhibit is a product reflecting their life as a child, teenager and young adult, told through the photo series. A family issue led to a change in where Evans and a sibling lived, prompting them to ask – what does home really mean?

“My brother Logan quickly became a reflection of me, both visually and metaphorically, as he was the one constantly exploring my home and served as a grounding point in this work as well as in my world. As he became his own individual in this new home, he developed a better relationship with the area, as it became his true home,” Evans said.
Through this black-and-white photo exhibit, Evans said it is a visual representation of family dynamics and the experiences the two shared within that space.
“Using film photography to emphasize the passage of time and the distortion of memory, ‘A Little Too Little, A Little Too Much’ is about creating a new sense of home through exploration.”
